How to Size a Candle Jar Mold from Target Wax Capacity

For custom candle jars, internal capacity is usually a better starting point than guessing the outside dimensions first.

Separate Wax Fill from External Size

The jar needs enough usable internal volume for the candle fill while also allowing for the vessel material and wall thickness.

Lock the Inner Cavity First

Once the internal height and diameter range are reasonable, the exterior can be developed around the target style.

Decorative Shapes Change Wall Thickness

Twists, ribs and stone textures can create thick and thin zones. These should be checked before finalizing the outside surface.

Use a Reference Size When the Customer Is Unsure

If only the target capacity is known, a reference cylindrical size can be proposed first and then adjusted after the customer confirms the preferred proportions.
